Thursday....

It's been a week since I stopped in to say "hell-o"! Pretty uneventful...but have managed to keep busy.

Didn't accomplish much in the way of crocheting...although I did get a few rows done on the baby blanket. Will share a picture as soon as it gets alittle longer. I need to get my fanny moving on this one...my #5 grand-daughter will be arriving the first week or two of May. I'm hoping to get some flannel and terry cloth as well...would really like to make some burp pads and bibs.

Isn't this a real beauty??? I just love violets and this plant is just unbelievable!! It's just starting to bloom. I can't wait until I can get out in my rock garden! I moved things around last year and sure am anxious to see how things look.

Trying a new recipe for dinner tonight...I'll let you know how it turns out.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Well, this is the day everyone is Irish...in reality or fantasy. Enjoy your day and be safe!! Any special Irish dinners on the menu for tonight?? I didn't realize it was St. Patrick's Day until this morning...I planned Mexican for tonight's meal!! Oh well...I'll be Irish in spirit...how's that??

Much better attitude today than yesterday, although I'm still in my "funk". I did crochet a few rows on the baby blanket...and that's coming along nicely. Looked around eBay to find some fabric...for Christmas. Think I'll wait until we head down to Michigan to see what I can find down there first!!

Other than that...no news is good news. Need to get some ironing done for work this week-end. Other than that, I'm gonna do nothing!!! :)

Cheerful Things...

I'm having a damn hard time with so many things lately. Believe me, I'm not a negative person, but I just can't seem to pull myself out of this "funk". Maybe it's the dreary winter months, cold weather...etc. Maybe I need some "spring"...which always puts some "zip in my step"....and that's certainly not that far away.

Hubby bought me some lovely flowers...and that seemed to cheer me up. What a nice surprise!!! But...other issues with LIG (life in general) are still there.

I want to move...it doesn't have to be far...it just has to be where we have some "room to roam". It doesn't have to be fancy...a "fixer-upper" would be just dandy. Our new place would need a basement, a large garage or shop, and about an acre of land...a double lot would do....a perfect place for a vegetable garden. Here...I have neighbors on both sides and I feel as though I'm being strangled. Don't get me wrong...we have some great neighbors...just too close. I feel as though I'm being suffocated by houses. I think you get the picture....

What makes me "cheery"??? Sunshine and flowers...laundry on the close line...my hubby and dog. I never hear from my kids...they have lives of their own...but once in awhile, a phone call...without me calling and reminding them that their Mother is alive and well...would be nice.

And, I don't know why the hell I bother writing on this blog...no one ever reads it. Oh well...a good place to be vocal....

Tomorrow's a new day...hopefully, my negative attitude will change and my "mojo" will return.

In Progress...

Hope this finds you well. Not alot of excitement here on this end. Busy week-end, as I worked....and work again tomorrow and Wednesday. Sure hope it's busy.

Here's our patient...recuperation still in progress. He goes down the steps without a problem...but still isn't crazy about running UP the stairs. Will take time for those little legs to heal...but he's doing amazing!!!!

"Frogged" out the baby afghan I was working on. Can't decide what pattern to use...too many holes isn't a good thing, so knitting the Princess Margaret baby blanket is out of the question. I'll come up with something...

Sun is shining...spring is right around the corner. I want to get this place cleaned up, clutter taken care of and get this thing "listed". "We gotta get out of this place...if it's the last thing we ever do". Good tune by The Animals...if my mind serves me correctly!!! If we don't make the move soon...we'll be too damn old to do what we want to do...

Last Day of the Month...

Well, February came and went in a "flash". We're getting closer and closer to spring...and I just can't wait. A few days ago, one of my "summer-time friends" paid me a visit. A small red squirrel! Haven't seen him since late last fall. He remembered to peek through the patio door to get my attention. Yes, he got his handful on peanuts....even though he doesn't look like he's been starving to death over the winter months!!!

Worked all week-end, with Sunday being a 13 hour day. I woke up around 4 a.m. and my feet felt like they were on fire!!! I'm just not sure how much longer I can keep those kind of hours up!!!

Here's the yarn I'm using on the baby afghan. I went to Zeller's to get a few more skeins on Friday...just in case I run out. What a nice surprise...buy one get one 50% off. Ya gotta love a sale.

Better think about getting some dinner cooking!!! See ya later!

Good day, Sunshine!!!

It's a beautiful Saturday morning...but from the looks of the weather forecast, it's going to be short-lived. It looks as though it's going to be "grey skies" for the upcoming week. At least we have a few hours of "beauty" this morning.

Haven't been doing too much this past week. Have managed to keep the house clean...it's a good feeling. Also tied in some loose ends on a "scrap-happy" dish cloth. I started a baby afghan--twice now--and will share pictures when the pattern starts taking shape. The afghan is called "Princess Margaret"..similar to a Feather and Fan afghan stitch, but consists of only 2 rows. Easy-peasy!! Here's a picture of a few of the dish cloths I've finished so far. Nice, bright colors!!

Better start thinking about heading to work....yesterday was a busy day. Unfortunately, the boss was grumpy and he managed to make everyone's life miserable...but we all have our "off days", right?

AGAIN.....

It's been awhile AGAIN. There really isn't any consistency to my blogging, is there?? I've been keeping busy...really I have.

I've been working on keeping a more tidy house...for the most part...saving time for myself. But...I spend entirely too much time on this computer. Just think of the things I could accomplish if I wasn't sitting here!!! (Never happen!!) ;)

I've been using up some odds and ends of cotton yarn...more dish cloths. I think I told you about my "scrap happy" crochet dish cloths, didn't I?? I have several made...and they sell very well at the craft shows. I really think the ladies like the combination of colors used!! Regardless, the price is right. Take a peek...

I've also been listing on eBay...I really need to get rid of this clutter. If we put this house up for sale, it will be a"rush" to get everything boxed up and ready to move. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks.....
