And I'm the "Helper"...

Well, I've been back from the States now for a week. Glad to be home, but wish we lived closer so I could be of more help to my Mom. There's another trip coming...I can feel it.

Today's project...John is adding more insulation to the attic....and I'm "The Helper". It's a dirty job...gloves, a mask and long sleeves to keep from getting covered in the fiberglass dust. But...with the cost of natural gas going sky high...this certainly will be worth it in the long run!

This is a big week-end...2 craft shows. I'm just about ready...still have to price a few items...and add on a flower or two. But other than that...I'm done. I don't know why I bother...EVERYONE knits and crochets. When I use up my 18,000 skeins of yarn I have stashed in my basement....I'll concentrate on another hobby. I want to quilt! So place your orders now--before my fabric rots away!!!!! :)

I don't think I've shared a picture of my girl...Maggie The Cat! She's so pretty...and she loves her Ma-ma!!
Enjoy your Thursday......

A Very Busy Day....

It's been a very busy day...with alot accomplished. My day consisted of some laundry and house work. Also made another batch of apple butter...a little on the sweet side...more so than the first. And John worked on the car...new tie rods and an oil change.

Karen stopped by...always nice to see her!!! We had a nice chat and she looked at my hats I have made for the craft shows. She order 4 hats...at least I think she did. I laid my damn list down!!! Funny how things have a way of disappearing!! She'll straighten me out!!!

Back to work tomorrow...for 3 hours. I work the lunch shift, and if it's busy, the time will fly by. I enjoy working for the most part...but I'm spoiled with 4 days off each week. I just love my time at home!!! I'll be okay once I get there.

Beautiful day here....windy, on the cool side...and the gold leaves floated through the air. Clothes went out on the line to dry...they smell so good. I'll miss that this winter....

Check out my little buddy! She's always so busy...and so spoiled!! We buy 50 pounds of peanuts at a time...her 'stash" for the winter.

Better get busy....things yet to do this evening.

See you tomorrow...

Time Just Slips Away......

I had all good intentions of posting daily...and I see it's been a good 5 days since I've been here. I guess with the fact that I worked over the week-end and had company for Thanksgiving might have something to do with it. But aren't there 24 hours in a day???? I really do waste so much time.

Had a super day! My neighbor Karen and I went to get a hair cut, and did some shopping at our three local thrift stores. We both walked out with some super deals--and without breaking the bank. I was very happy with my picture frames and 2 tops!! And Karen found some awesome things for her house! She has a real "gift" for decorating. Everything seems to blend together!!!

Spent alot of time yesterday listing my "treasures" on ebay. Also sat here until after 1:00 this morning, trying to pick apart someone's pattern on the internet and come up with the formula for a super looking tam! I think I have it!! I'll let you know in a few days. Here's a picture of my latest finished hat...turned out pretty good...the yarn was a delight to work with.

Until next time...and who knows...maybe tomorrow night I'll sit here and ramble on about another day...running through life with hooks and needles! Until then...

I'm Back......

It's been awhile since I've sat down to write. I lost my MO-JO! But I'm back, and have been for a few weeks or more now. Shortly after returning home...we went down to Brockville to see John's parents...and family from Holland. We were only there for a few days and brought Lex and Hannie back up here with us. They were able to stay for 5 days. Had a great time...went for a ride on the ATV, some hiking, a few games of cards....etc. Wish we lived closer...

It's that time of year...the craft shows will be starting up soon. I'm involved with 3 this year....and I certainly hope things go well. The economy is so bad here...it's a hard call. Maybe people will shop locally...we shall see!!! But...I still have more to do...I want to try a few new patterns and finish up a few WIP--(works in progress.) Then it will be time to plan for the holidays. Thank goodness I have about half of my shopping done...or in the making.

Check out this window of a particular store in Merrickville, Ontario. It's a shop of all hand blown glass. An AWESOME place! Walk around the corner of the bulding and you will see the artist create all of those lovely items!!!

See you soon...have a great Friday!!!
