Friendship...

“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” – Marcel Proust

I have this great friend...Janet...and we always have a great time when we're together.  But, lately, we have both been busy, away...or just "caught up in life".  I miss her.  But...I certainly have been getting more accomplished around the house and gardens.  We need to plan a day to "catch up"...

I've been busy working on a hat order...4 hats and a pair of mittens.  I have several hats made this year and will take a few orders for the holiday season...but I have a few of my own gifts to make, so I will pace myself and do only what I THINK I can handle, without pulling my hair out.

Here's one of the hats I finished for my eBay store.  A lovely shade of yellow.  I call it my "happy hat"!!  Great color for those dreary days of winter.

Other than that...not much excitement around here.  Getting the house and yard ready for the winter months.  New windows and front door will be installed on the 20th of November.  I'm sure that will make a difference!!  I know it will look much better.

Well, it's bath time...and I want to finish up the hat I'm working on tonight.  Have a great evening...it's time to relax!!

Tired...

Why is it, when John is gone for a few days...I stay up late and get up before 6:00 a.m?  What's wrong with this picture?.  I'm even up before Oggie Dog wakes up.  He strolls out around 7:00 a.m. or so.

This morning I picked up Janet and we went to town.  She's not feeling well at all and I'm having trouble with my bowels.  Great pair we make.  Gone a few hours and now I'm beat.

Listed another one of my hats...True Taupe, made of Bernat Chunky #5 weight.  Love it....

Not the best picture....but it's a great looking beanie!!!!  Sure hope my hats start to sell.  Kind of difficult to promote them when it's 70 degrees out!!!  I do better locally, than on eBay or Etsy.  I make more money as well!!  We'll see what this year brings.

Better get something done....John is home tomorrow!!  A good thing.

Busy Day...

Last night, I stayed up until after 1:00 am.  Wanted to stay awake to let Oggie Dog out at 11:00.  I know that if I sat in my chair and put my feet up, my eyes would close.  You get the picture, right??

So this morning, my Oggie let me sleep in until almost 7:00.  Bless his little heart.  He must have know that Ma-ma wasn't smart enough to go to bed at a descent hour.

So this morning, I hit it hard.  Had to go to the laundromat to wash our king size comforter.  Oggie decided to "barf" on it a few months ago.  Of course, I washed it by hand, but it left a big stain.  After my trip to the dreaded laundromat, I went for a hair cut.  Turned out okay, but not my favorite hairdresser.  After that, I headed to the nursing home to see John's parents.  Short, but sweet.  Good people.

Now, I'm home...sitting in this chair and I need to get downstairs to my craft room.  It's on my "to do" list while John is having a great time in Pennsylvania.  (Snicker...)  But that's OKAY, as this is my vacation, too.

Yesterday, I worked my fanny off, going through closets and "purging" some of my clothes.  Went to the thrift store with 2 garbage bags full.  Felt great!!

In the meantime, didn't feel like cooking.  Called my buddy, Janet, whose hubby went with mine to Pennsylvania (trouble there) and we went out for dinner.  BONUS!!!   Service sucked, but food was good!!

Patio door is open, and I can hear my wind chimes sing their song  Just love it!!!

Also managed to get a few of my hats listed on eBay.  So happy.  Now, just need to sell them.  Take a peek!!

Talk to you later...need to let the dog out and head to that DREADED craft room!

Have a wonderful day....

Venting....

I need to VENT!  If I don't vent here, I will vent on social media and be sorry later.

Scenario...3 years ago, my Ma-ma was very sick and I called my oldest son and his family, telling them it was time to come and see Grandma.  Ball tournaments took priority.  Grandma passed away.  I called son, no response.

Grandma Barb, Daddy's Mom..is in hospice care.  I really like her and she was very good to me.  Pictures are on their FB page.  No, it's not jealousy....I'm really hurt.....There was no acknowledgement when my Ma-ma passed....SCREW YOU, Jason.

Quiet Time...

October...things are starting to quiet down.  But...look what I found...a new bloom on my morning glory vine...and a visitor!!!

And my wind chimes.  I found them in the basement...brand new in the original box.  I guess i never found the perfect spot for them.  They have the nicest chime...soft and relaxing.  I wish I could spend the day on the bench enjoying their sweet sound.

It's going to be a quiet few days here...hubby and his buddy went to a big car show in Pennsylvania...about an 8 hour drive from here.  I hope he has a good time.  I have big plans...ironing, cleaning out a few closets and canning some pickled beets.  I hope I accomplish everything on my mental list.

I better get busy...want to spend a few hours outside, cleaning up a few flower beds.

Have a wonderful day!!!

TIME MARCHES ON....

Sad, but true....time passes by so quickly!!

Our new chairs.  We bought these "beauties" in early spring.  Ask me...how many times did we enjoy those lovely red chairs???  Not once.  Where did the summer go and what did I do with my time????

It has finally cooled off.  I use to love the warm temperatures and hot sun...but not much any more.  The sun is just too, too hot...and seems to burn it's way right through me.  I can handle the 70 degree range without any trouble at all...but other than that, I am miserable.

Well, I got my wish...today the high should be 60 degrees out there and I will continue to work on the front flower beds.  I am procrastinating...I have to put the vegetable garden to bed for the season....a sad time.  Still have beets to can...maybe Sunday!!!

My crafts??  I have several hats ready to put in my eBay store and list on the local "buy and sell" sites.  Will share with you as soon as I get some pictures taken.

Have a great week-end....I'm going to!!

Go Ahead...Tell ME!!

Good Morning!!

Okay...tell me you're proud of me!  I'm actually posting again in just over a month!!!

Have been listing quite regularly on eBay.  My store has been doing quite well, and it will soon be time to list the new hats and holiday themed patterns.

My garden???  I am disappointed in the tomatoes.  Some aren't "turning" as fast as I thought they would and have started to develop black spots.  I'm blaming it on a wet season.  But...take a look at my sunflowers!!!  Monsters!

Yesterday, I baked acorn squash, pureed the squash and froze it.  Also roasted some cherry tomatoes which should be a nice treat on pizza or in pasta this winter.

It's Labor Day!!  If you have the day off, be safe.  I THINK we are staying home...but that could change.  Usually does.

Enjoy your day!!!!

ONE MORE TIME!!!!

It's been well over a year since I have posted a single word.  Don't know why...I guess life gets in the way.  But, I won't bother you with everything that has happened in the past 18 months...I'll start fresh!!!

So on that note....we have had a very wet and mild summer and it has taken the garden some time to wake up.  I think I might have picked 5 zucchini's so far and a handful of cherry tomatoes.  Not sure the beans will make it...or summer squash.  Beets look good as well as the tomatoes.  We will see what the rest of the summer holds.

And here's my old farmer....in his "lawn mowing hat".  Pretty handsome fellow, if I do say so myself. He keeps this place looking wonderful.  I just

wish he'd work in the flower beds!!!   ;)

Until next time....
