AHHHHHHHHHH....

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last visit.  Have been VERY busy...work seems to be taking up alot of my time--an early Christmas with John's family--a package mailed out to my Mom and Dad--and now I'm working on gifts for the grand-daughters.

How did I get so far behind???????????

Happy Thanksgiving...

A very HAPPY THANKSGIVING to my Family and Friends. May your day be bright...and may You have a chance to reflect on your many blessings.

I'm an American living in Canada...the Canadian Thanksgiving has come and gone...(the first Monday of October)...and I miss the old fashioned Thanksgiving of my childhood. But I'm grateful for those years of my youth...with many happy memories. Life marches on....right??

Today...I went and got my hair cut, went to the post office to mail out a hat to Alberta AND my hubby treated me to a burger, muffin and coffee at McDonalds. Also called my Mom and Dad...and wished them a Happy Thanksgiving. They're in Florida--where it was in the mid 70's around noon. :)

I did some sewing yesterday afternoon, and practiced making pillow cases out of an old sheet. They're turning out pretty good, but then, what's so hard about sewing a straight seam???? Don't ask...Anyway, I tried my hand at French seams...nice not to see any raw edges. Have refreshed my mind and now I'll work on those specialty pillow cases for the Grand-daughters...something handmade from Grandma.

Hope you're enjoying your day...and HAPPY THANKSGIVING if you're celebrating the holiday.

'Tis the Season To Be.........

BUSY!!!  Yes Ladies...it's that time of year.  Let me tell you about my busy season. And it's ALL good!!

John and I went to The States (Michigan) last week and finished up our Christmas shopping.  I have some sewing to do and that should start this afternoon...if all goes well.  Will work on a few Christmas cards-- until they're done and finish up an afghan.  And that's it!!  Not too bad at all.

We'll be going to sprend a few days with John's parent's and his son and daughter in a few weeks...and then off to see my family the first week in January.  I'd much sooner see the little ones before Christmas, but this seems to work out better for everyone...and we have our own festive time--just alittle later is all!!!

Ebay sales have been good.  I've sold several hats and patterns...and people seem to be happy with their purchases.  It's all good...

Well, I better get into that craft room and start up that sewing machine.  Have a great day...and here's hoping your holiday plans are falling into place!!!

See ya soon!

Miserable Out There....

It's just pouring out there...and cold.  Thank goodness we have heat and a roof over our heads.

Not alot going on around here.  The craft show was last Saturday.  No more said.  Although I did manage to cover the cost of my table and make a few dollars as well, it was pretty disappointing.  Something kept telling me to wait until Sunday---for the BIG show.  But did I listen to my inner voice???  NOPE!!  Over 1500 people went through that show and the "news on the street" is PEOPLE WERE SPENDING THEIR MONEY!!!  So...will I listen to my inner voice next year???  Most definitely....

We're heading to the States on Monday to do our Christmas shopping.  Although I'm making a few gifts, I want to get a few special items for my Grand-daughters.  I just LOVE Christmas...and wish I lived closer to my family.  I have visions of my Grand-daughters running through the door looking for the cookies...or to see if The Nativity Scene was up yet!! I think those days are long gone.  Do they even do that sort of thing any more???  Thank goodness dreams are free...
Well, I've been going to go start cleaning up my craft room for the last week or two...and haven't got started yet.  It's such a mess!!!  If you don't hear from me in a few days...send help!!  ;)

Sharing a picture or two of a few hats I had out for the craft show...

Have a GREAT afternoon.....wherever you are!!!

That NASTY 4-Letter Word...

Take a close look at those white spots on the deck....SNOW!!!  That NASTY 4-letter word is back in the vocabulary AGAIN!!  I guess you can probably tell that I'm NOT a winter person!!  Although it was just 10 minutes of light flurries...you just know what's right around the corner.

Not alot of excitement here.  I finished the dark teal hat...pleased with the way it turned out.  I'll start another one tonight, just not sure what style to make.  I need to do a round of single crochet on one of the "scrap-happy dish cloths"...and make a few flowers for my other hats, and then I should be ready for the craft show on the 5th!!

Vacuumed the downstairs this morning and did a load of laundry.  Having left-overs for dinner tonight--chili, tossed salad and some cornmeal muffins.  Easy-breezy!!

Hope you're enjoying your Thursday!!!

Hell-ooooo Blog...

Hi There...
Remember me???  I keep making myself a promise that I'll do a better job with this blog...but looks like I'm full of empty promises.

Let's see...no excuses. Hubby and I went to Michigan to visit my Mom.  Had a good time...and took our time coming home.  Stayed the night in Houghton Lake...one of my very favorite areas in Michigan.  We're heading back there in a few weeks for our annual Christmas shopping trip.  I just love the choices!!!

And...the big news...I finished all 8 slouchy tams for a special order.  I was so pleased....they looked really nice. (See the above picture.) I sure hope I hear from her again.  Believe me...it was great to have her as a repeat customer.

Next event...the Craft and Hobby Show--November 5th.  I was hoping to get some kitchen "scrubbies" made, but I don't think that's going to happen this year.  I have a few flower pins to make yet...and price a few items...and that should be it.  I'm currently working on a brimmed hat in a dark teal green, and hope to get a few more plain skullies made.  They work up extremely fast!!

I better get some sleep...it's getting late.

See you in my dreams!!  :)

A Quick "Hell-o"...

Mostly sunny today...another real beauty!!  I've been working in my rock garden....fertilizing and cutting things back for the winter.  Hard to believe that we're already into the month of October.

Have been crocheting...2 hats down and 6 to go.  So far I've finished the mustard yellow and oatmeal colored tams.  Hope to complete the third one today.  At this rate, I should have them done in plenty of time.

Here's one I made for the craft show..made out of super bulky yarn and in 2 shades of blue.  Just a simple pattern...nothing fancy.

Better get my day started...have managed to get a few things down so far this morning.

See ya later!!!

Sunny Sunday...

Well, it's just a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and I have a few hours in between my shifts at work.  I'm sitting here wondering what to do first...and how to enjoy my few hours of piece and quiet.   Think I'll grab my crochet project and head outside to enjoy the sunshine.

Have been working the last few days...it's been "slow".  I guess people are holding on to their money, so they can enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday...which is a week from Monday for the Canadians.  I have the best of both worlds...as I can celebrate once again in November.  (I just love turkey and all the trimmings!!)

Remember my last post and how I was so happy that I finished that special order for the 6 hats???  Well, that sweet woman was so pleased, she ordered another 8 hats from me.  This time I'll be making slouchy tams...in various colors!!  I'm just thrilled!!!!!  I'll take that money and stash it away for the Christmas holidays.  I have 5 grand-daughters...need I say more?????

I guess if I'm going to enjoy a little time out in the sun, I better get out there.  Hope you're enjoying your week-end!!!

Talk to you later....

Sometimes.....

I see it's been well over 2 weeks since I paid a visit to my blog.  Sometimes...life just gets in the way.  There's ALWAYS something that needs to be done.   But...I'll start fresh...and save you from the details of the last 2 weeks.

Well, I finished my order for the 6 hats in time and got them mailed off to Toronto.  Since then, I've sold another, which went to Quebec City...I've been fortunate the last few weeks to get 4 more hats completed, along with another scarf.  I'm currently working on a  neck warmer in a lovely rust color and it's giving me great STRESS!!  It's a "no brainer"...and I think it's the amount of yarn I have to work with that's causing the problem.

Not alot of news here in Northern Ontario.  I'm hoping to get down to Michigan to spend a few days with my Mom before she heads out to Florida for the winter.  To win the lottery and make the south our winter home is such a dream....but dreams are free, right??  And you just never know where Lady Luck might be hiding...

With that...have a "lucky" day where ever you are!!!

Back To Work...

Back to work today...I need a rest!  Had a busy day yesterday.  Dusted the house, did a load of laundry and CROCHETED.  Just about finished my 5th hat for a special order.  One more to go....

This particular hat is black...hard to see the stitches, but it's turning out very nice.  I found the yarn at a thrift store and it is sooooo soft.  Wish it had a label on it...as I'd sure get some more.

Also listed a few things on eBay...started the auctions off at a VERY low price, hoping I get a few bids.  Sold our 70's phone...and it's heading to Nova Scotia.  One item down and a ZILLION to go!!  lolol

Hope you have an awesome day....it's a beauty.  Not a cloud in the sky!!

Oh...by the way...Sunny The Cat sends a BIG "hell-o"!!!  :)

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!!

It's been a long time since I've made any effort to sit and blog.  Not much going on, but have been keeping VERY busy.

I've been doing quite a bit of crocheting.  I had a sweet lady from Toronto order 6 hats from me.  Isn't that great news????  Six mock ear-flapped caps in various colors...one is pictured above.  She needs them by the 20th, so I've been crocheting up a storm.

Have also been trying to "de-clutter" this house.  Not a "hoarder's haven" by any means, but alot of things that just need to go.  I list several things on eBay, and the things that haven't sold, or that I don't THINK will show much interest, have just gone to one of our local thrift stores.  Hubby tells me I need to be careful that I don't buy them back...and it HAS happened.  I have enough items to list to keep me busy for a year!!
I really should get back into my yarn bins and empty some of them out, but I'm not at the point of wanting to part with any more yarn...at least for the time being!!

John went to the Barrie flea market for the week-end, so I have a few days to myself. I do have to work, but no double shifts until Sunday.  My parents are coming for a visit on Sunday...just for a few days, so that will be a nice change.

Better get my house dusted....hope to talk to you soon!!

Oggie Sez....

Oggie mentioned that I haven't been to visit my blog lately...and boy, was he right!!  It's been well over a week now.  But, no news is good news, for the most part.  I have a few things to share with you....

I've been working several extra hours at work, filling in for another waitress so she can enjoy her vacation.  I'll be soooo glad when she's back, as it's just about killing me!!  One more 8 hour shift and 3 days of doubles, and it will be over with.  I think I can make it!!

So, my crocheting has been put on the "back burner" for the time being.  I've managed to sneak in a row or two...but other than that, nothing major.  I sure miss it....

I've sold 2 of my hats on eBay.  That certainly was a good feeling.  And, I have been approached about doing a few special orders.  A lady contacted me regarding 6 hats and another lady is interested in baby hats and diaper covers.  I'm thrilled!!!  I hope it all comes together, as I'm "itching" to get started.  If this keeps up, I don't think I'll be doing too many craft shows this fall.  I just won't have the time.  Plus, I have a bunch of gifts to get started on.  More on that later.

And if I don't get started on dinner, there is going to be a very unhappy man in this house...along with Oggie and the kitties.  So...I do hope this finds you well....

Enjoy your day!!!

Good Morning!!

It's Saturday...a rainy Saturday...but we sure need the moisture!!

Another busy week....glad it's over with.  Didn't get much crocheting done.  I "frogged" out the mulberry colored scarf, as I just wasn't happy with it.  I decided to make a keyhole scarf instead, and it's turning out very nice.  I went through the wool my Mother-in-law gave me, and have decided my next project to be a "retro" striped scarf....all in colors of brown and gold.

Moved a few more plants around in my rock garden.  Just need to split up the ground cover now to "fill in" here and there.  Might split up a few of my hostas, but not too sure yet where to put them.  I think I'm getting FULL!!!

Other than that, no news is good news.  John's testing on his bladder turned out EXCELLENT.  No reoccurring tumors...doesn't have to repeat any testing for 6 months!!

Have a GREAT day...I'm going to!!!

Busy Day...

It's been a long, busy day...

I only slept for a few hours last night...and it's starting to catch up to me.  I was up and down like a yo-yo most of the night...my legs felt like they were on "fire".  Happens every Sunday night when I work a double shift.  And I was soooo busy...the people just kept coming and coming and I was working the floor alone.  And they were all parties of 5 or more!!!!  I was so happy to get out of there!!!!

John went to the hospital this morning for a test on his bladder.  He's been dealing with cancer for about 18 months or more...and today was a day to celebrate!!!  NO cancer and NO tumors.  Now, instead of going every 3-4 months for testing, he won't go back for 6 months.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!!  It certainly was a big relief!!!

Here's a quick peek at the Dazzelaire yarn I was telling you about.  Although vintage..the colors look amazing together.  Variegated cream, grey and rust tones.  This is a picture of the hat before I finished it up...for a small child.  I just have to add the pom-pom.

Tomorrow is 1 cent listing day on eBay.  Hoping to get a few things listed.  I found some neat books on doll houses--instructions and plans.  They SHOULD bring a descent price...if they sell!!!

Better get some sleep...see ya later!!  :)

Dream....

Just a quick "hell-o"...as I really need to get to bed----a split shift tomorrow.

I just want to get your wheels turning...I don't want to be the only one up all night!!

I heard something on television tonight that "we can be what we dream"....or "we ARE what we dream".  Hmmm...I know MY answer to that...I would homestead.  Live far away from the "rat race" of city life and just enjoy the rest of my days.  And, that isn't too hard to accomplish.  All in all, dreams CAN come true.  We'll see....

So tell me...what is YOUR dream?  Are you living it????

Sweet dreams everyone!!

The Party's Over... :(

Well, it's back to work tomorrow...boo hoo!!!  I guess I shouldn't complain, as I only work on the average of 20 hours per week.  And...if ya think about it, I'm one of the lucky ones...I HAVE a job!!

Busy day.  I vacuumed the upstairs and dusted our bedroom.  Hung 2 loads of clothes out on the line and played in the rock garden.  I moved some plants around and got the three I bought yesterday all situated.  Pulled a few weeds and just enjoyed "playing in the dirt".

Finished the hat I was making in the Dazzelaire yarn.  Think I'll put a pom-pom on it, as it's for a child.  Tomorrow, I'll finish the scarf I'm working on and go back to the planning stages.  Probably another tam...or MAYBE a scrap happy scarf!!!

Here's the "dirty rose" colored hat I was telling you about.  Just need to put the fringe on the scarf and make a flowered button.  (Better get some of these projects completed....)

\

So...enjoy your week-end...talk to ya later!!!

Alot of Nothin'

Not much of anything got accomplished around here today...but we all need an "off" day now and again....don't you agree??

I did go to the bank, post office and browsed around 2 of our local thrift stores.  I found 3 very nice Hallmark Christmas cards for .10 each.  Stopped by the grocery store to get the rest of our vegetables and  to Canadian Tire (a hardware and garden supply store) to check on some lined rubber boots for John.  No such luck....BUT...I did get 3 perennial plants for the rock garden at 75% off!  Would have cost alittle over 10.00...but I walked out of there for 2.68 and that included the tax!!  What a score!!!!

I did get the bed changed, washed the comforter and Oggie's "blankie" and hung them out on the line!!  It didn't take them long to dry with the wind and the hot August sun. Another few loads to get done tomorrow...looks to be another sunny day!!

 Where's my "blankie", Mom?????

Made a stew in the crock-pot for dinner.  Had a salad and dinner rolls as well...fast and easy.  (I love those easy meals!!)

Well, better get to bed...hope all is well in your world!!

Vacation....

Well, we're back from our vacation..  We were away for 8 days and had a blast.  We left here and traveled through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and down to Kenoshaw, Wisconsin for the International M.O.C.N.A. (Metropolitan Owner's Club of North American) meet...where Met owners gathered from all over the place...the farthest being Puerto Rico.  Spent 4 days there and then traveled down through Chicago, Indiana and back into Michigan, where we stopped in to see my oldest son, Jason, and his family.  My Mom and Dad met us there and the 9 of us went out for dinner.  The next morning, John and I took off bright and early and drove the back roads towards home and just relaxed.  Thank goodness I have 2 days off before I go back to work...need the time to recuperate!!!

While we were traveling, I managed to make a tam in a plum color and started a matching neck warmer.  Ran out of yarn, but fortunately have another skein stashed in my closet.  Found a neat skein of vintage Dazzleaire and started a hat for a young boy.  Will eventually get all of this stuff listed in my eBay store and possible on etsy.  We'll see....

Better get to bed as it's already after midnight.  I'm fighting off a cold...Lord knows I could use a good night's sleep!!

Until later...sweet dreams!

Thursday, July 21, 2011

Good Morning!!

Have been "up and at it" for a  few hours already this morning.  Want to get a few things done around here, before the heat becomes "unbearable".  On days like today, I wish for air conditioning!!  However, for the few days a year we MIGHT use it, I can deal with the heat for a day or two!!!

Having a yard sale this Saturday...for sure.  I've already gone through  several things and taken a few boxes to the local thrift stores.  What doesn't sell at this yard sale, will be going, too.  I can't deal with the clutter any more.  Time to concentrate on the things I enjoy doing and less time moving things around to avoid the mess!!   I have spoken!!  lololol

Have I shown you my "pride and joy" yet this year??  Isn't she a beauty??  She usually stands taller...but I took this picture right after a hard rain.   She's already perked up alittle!!!

Well, better get moving...or I'll end up sitting here "forever"!!  Have a GREAT day!!!  And don't over-do it in this heat!!

Look and See.....

Look and see what I got out of that bag of blueberries I was telling you about a few days ago. Of course, there are a few bags in the freezer...but I made some Blueberry Jam and got 7 pints of sweet, yummy jam for our bagels and toast!!!

It's been HOT here in Northern Ontario....but then it's been hot all over!  Looks as though we're in for some rain this afternoon...and Lord knows we can use some.  Tomorrow will be the worst of the week...so want to get my house work done this morning.

I'm about half way done with the scarf in the "Dirty Rose" colored yarn...the one that will match that "Dirty Rose" colored hat!!  lol  Will share when it's finished.

In the meantime...I'm going to go finish my vacuuming...before I can't tell the difference between the hair that's floating around my living room floor and the cats!!!

Enjoy your day!!

Blueberry Season

It's blueberry season here in Northern Ontario.....always a great time out in the bush.  Weather was perfect...not too hot...nice breeze!!  I could have stayed out there for hours.

Went to a few yard sales this morning.  Found a few "treasures"...nothing I needed. ...but you can NEVER have enough yarn, right????

It's supposed to get extremely hot and humid here over the next few days.  The restaurant has no air...and by the time it gets replaced, the hot, muggy season will be a thing of the past.

Think I'll go and work on a scarf I'm making....the craft shows will be here in just a few short months!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Nice Surprise....

On Sunday, I came home between shifts to find this beautiful bouquet of flowers from my Hubby.  I celebrated my 59th birthday--working a double shift.  This certainly was a most welcomed surprise!!!   Aren't they just lovely!!

It was certainly a very hot week-end...and working without air, was alittle more than most can deal with.  It's not a pretty site, when your waitress welcomes you to Sunday Brunch...wearing a sweat band.  Well, I AM exaggerating...but I should have been wearing one!!!  lolol

Went out to Quirk Lake to visit with a few friends yesterday.  John went out there again this morning...to launch the sail boat.  Hope my buddy Barb, remembers to take some pictures!!!

Well, I have a list of things I want to get done today and one is trying out a new recipe.  I'll let you know how it turns out!!

Have a GREAT day!!!

Yard Salin'

Saturday...yard salin' day!!  Not that we NEED anything!!!  But it's always a "blast" and ya just never know what you MIGHT find!  My big purchase of the day...this basket.  Cost me 50 cents!!

John found a box of Louis L'Amour books...all marked at 25 cents each...the man parted with ALL of them for 5.00.  I bet there's at least 50 books!!  Hubby is in 7th heaven!

After our shopping spree, I went to work and hubby went on a mission with his best buddy, Dan.  They went to look at a sail boat...and if all goes well, they'll be bringing it home.  Dan wants to learn how to sail, and John is the "man for the job".  Personally speaking...this is Dan's way of keeping us in the area for as long as he possibly can.  I doubt if we'll EVER get out of here.  So...if this is the case, I have some plans for the back yard...and I'm sure I can talk hubby into this project.  (Will share details at a later date!!!)  :)

So...if Sunny The Cat will let me at the box of books, I'll go through them and put them in the book case alphabetically! (He looks kinda "cranky", doesn't he....) The ones he has duplicates of,  will go into OUR yard sale next week.

Hope you've have a great day...mine has been!!!

My Clematis...

I have 4 clematis plants...2 that intertwine together and are absolutely gorgeous...a brand new one, by the arbour that probably won't flower this year and 1 that grows up the garden shed.  This particular clematis was a gift a few years ago...and I wasn't sure it would make it, as it looked all but dead to me.  I cut it back after the first year and later read THAT was a big mistake and last year the silly thing grew one vine and had 1 flower. This year it's big and bushy..and has 2 HUGE flowers, (that's it)..of all places, at the BOTTOM of the plant. They are beautiful and a light lavender in color...but it IS a challenge.  I won't be defeated by this damn clematis!!!

Had a busy week...cleaned the house and started to "de-clutter" the basement.  I have to admit...I'm "letting go" of a few things that I thought I'd keep "forever"--patterns and old magazines, so far.  I'm saving my 12 + large Rubbermaid tubs for last--they're full of yarn!!!

I think it's just about bath time.  Want to get up early and hit a few yard sales.  (Like I need more stuff...)

Have a great week-end!!!

A Real Beauty...

Just wanted to stop in and say "hell-o" before I head outside to the rock garden.  It's looking pretty good, but needs some attention here and there.  Isn't that what it's all about??

It was very busy at work over the week-end.  And HOT--no air conditioning.  It's certainly not very attractive to "sweat" at your customer's table!!!  I think I need a change!!!

Have been keeping busy around the house.  It took me quite some time to get this place dusted and vacuumed...as I've kinda neglected it the last few weeks.  After dinner, I need to get some mending done, and might even find time to crochet.  We've been trying to "declutter"...a few items here and a few items there.  I'd really like to get this place in some kind of order...just in case we decide to put it on the market...

It's just a beautiful day...think I'll go and spend some time outside!!

Saturday, July 2, 2011

My Poppies...

My poppies were beautiful again this year....but it's so unfortunate that they last for such a short period of time!!!  And it looks like the neighborhood raccoon might have walked across a few as well...or was it the bear??????  Whoever it was, didn't even leave a paw print!!!!

It's a holiday week-end here in Canada....Canada Day (July 1st)  celebrations all week-end long, with various activities planned here as well.  John went to a car show in Espanola and I'm on my way to work.

Haven't been doing any crocheting. I have all good intentions, but seem to go to sleep as soon as I hit my chair!!!!  (I really need to go to bed earlier!!!!)

Better finish getting ready for work....have a safe week-end!!!

Tadpoles and Turtles...

Just had to tell you about our ATV ride this morning.  We were out for about 2 hours and saw all kinds of neat things!!  First of all, a gazillion tadpoles at a lake we stumbled upon...all with little legs starting to form.  And...sitting there quietly in the water, waiting to munch on a few of those fat little tadpoles, was Mr. Snapping Turtle... and he was HUGE!!

Driving along we found moose prints in the sand and several droppings from the local bears.  Saw a hawk and a sand hill crane as well.  It was a good day...and we had a "blast".

Have been working on a hat out of a wool blend in a dusty rose color (I call it "dirty" rose).  Hopefully, I'll have enough yarn to make the scarf, too!!!  I'll share the pictures with you when it's done.

Now, I better get ready for work...why I volunteered to work this night shift is beyond me...but it's all "extra" money, so I'm not going to complain.  I'm lucky to have a job...so many people don't!!

See ya soon!!!

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Lazy Day...

Much cooler...and overcast...I miss the sun.  But, I'm grateful for the rain!!!  My gardens love it!!!

News of the last 24 hours...the DAMN birds.  They eat entirely too much...as you can see from the results of hanging my clothes on the line!!!!  But...I wouldn't trade their song for anything in the world.  I can hear the Crackles out in the rock garden, enjoying the sun flower seeds and suet.

Took Oggie for a walk last night...and guess what we found??  A patch of wild strawberries!!!  Only picked a handful or two...but they sure were sweet and tasty on a bowl of vanilla ice cream!!

I started dealing with some clutter in my craft room a few days ago.  If I was in my right mind...I would get rid of the majority of it!!  I just CAN'T do it!!  I'll never live long enough to finish up everything on my "Bucket List"!!!  And Lord knows I have enough yarn!!!!!

Better get busy!!!

See ya later!!

Meet Allie Lorraine....

Well, here she is...Ms. Allie Lorraine...the final "apple of my eye".  Naturally, she's a beautiful little girl...with all 10 fingers and all 10 toes.  I sure am a lucky girl!!!

I worked all week-end, and was certainly happy to see it end.  I'm not an old woman, by any means...but I'm finding this job of mine takes more and more out of me as time goes on.  But..."never say die"...and I will keep pushing myself until I decide to retire.

Today, there is really nothing special planned.  John and I went through the chest freezer this morning and made a list of all the food we have.  Lord knows we won't starve to death!!!   On to the next task....I cleaned both bathrooms and John did the tub for me.  (I just hate that job!!)  And now I'm in the process of changing the sheets.  So it's been busy enough.

Nice breeze...think I might as well wash our pillows and get them out on the line.  It's supposed to rain tomorrow!!  Yeah...think I'll do that.

Be safe...see you soon!!

FINALLY!!!!

Just a short post to let you know I'm still amongst the living.  I know...it's been awhile.  Busy, busy, busy!!!

Got home from our visit to Michigan.  Was nice to see the family...and of course, meet that new grand-daughter of ours!!!  What a cutie-pie!  Will share pictures when I can find where John put them on the computer.

And...FINALLY...the baby afghan is finished and delivered.  Never thought I'd see the day!!!  But...they seemed to like it and hopefully, that's the LAST one I'll have to make for any new babies in THIS family.  Much too early to start on any for great-grandchildren!!  :)

Work today, but a short shift...a good thing.  Traveling takes alot out of me...time to concentrate on other things.

Have a great day...looks like the sky is breaking and we just might see some sunshine!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!!

Seems like there's ALWAYS something to do.  Have been working, of course, trying to keep this house up as it should be, playing in my gardens and trying to finish that darn baby blanket.  (No it's NOT finished yet, but am getting close to putting the border on!!)

Picked up a new "fire pit" for the back yard.  Looks pretty nice...now I just hope we use it.  John also put the Bimini top on the boat...something else we haven't used in a few years.  Maybe this will be the year, if it ever warms up enough to kill off the black flies!!!

We had a yard sale last Sunday...did pretty good...and alot of "treasures" were sold.  Still much more to get rid of, and hopefully, we'll have another sale in a few weeks.  This time on a Saturday...when everyone is out and about!!

Better get ready for work...enjoy your week-end.

My Whiskey Barrels....

Just came off my 3 day work week--Friday, Saturday and a split shift on Sunday.  That one damn near kills me...but the $$ is good!!  No complaints here!  I offered to work a party tonight as well...group of 75..coming in for "a few drinks".  Only problem is...they won't arrive until 10:00 p.m.  So much for a good night's sleep!!

Not much accomplished today.  Went to the "bone cracker" this morning, hit a few thrift stores, a moving sale (a mosaic pot and saucer), bank, post office and stopped by the grocery store.  Hubby took me out for a coffee, burger and a muffin...so didn't have to mess with lunch!!!  Nice treat.

No rain...at the moment.  Looks like we're going to see some sun and warmer temps by mid-week.  Maybe this will get rid of those nasty black flies!!

Got a few more rows done on that baby blanket.  I WILL get that thing done by the end of the week!!!!

Check out my whiskey barrels....petunias, spikes and if ya look close...Vinca vines!!!  Should look "fuller" in a few weeks. Yup...the grass is a real problem this year...guess we better get those brown patches planted before it gets too hot.

I just LOVE summer!!!

Why Does It NOT Surprise Me?????

Can you believe it??  More rain...and why does this NOT surprise me??  After all, we had 2 days of sunny weather this week!!!  I shouldn't complain...and slap me for doing so.  We could be in the middle of flooded basements, or worse...strong winds and tornadoes...or worse...these days, the list is endless.

Managed to get my whiskey barrels planted..as well as my flower pots.  Had to replace my dead Japanese bush...with a hydrangea.  Planted a few marigolds, as these are John's favorites.  I need to get out and work on the rock garden some more...but NOT in the mud.  I'm trying to do a small area at a time, so things don't look or become so over-whelming!!!  Wish me luck.

Take a peek at my front yard..it's lookin' good!!

Got a few more rows done on the baby blanket...won't be long now...God willing!!!  Infact, I'm heading to my craft room now, to see if I can finish up this skein of yarn!!

See ya later...

Busy Day...

It's been a busy day.  Yesterday afternoon, I had all good intentions of getting the upstairs all "spruced" up....but you know that story.  I did manage to get into our bedroom closet...straightened that up and got rid of several pair of shorts and a bunch of tops.  So...all in all, I did manage to get something done.  I've been wanting to do that for quite some time!!  And it looks good.

Today, we ran some errands...post office, grocery store, thrift stores, etc.  I bought 1 skein of Sugar and Cream cotton yarn...black.  Might make a good dish cloth or scrubby!!!  Couldn't pass it up.  Also stopped by and got a flat of flowers for my rain barrels.  Should look nice when they're done.

I'd love to have a rose garden...but will wait until I have the time to play in it.  I was given a beautiful rose for Mother's Day.  Isn't it gorgeous???The picture will do for now...

See ya later...better get this upstairs finished!!!

MIA...

Didn't realize that I've been neglecting this thing...time has a way of getting away from me.

It's been a very busy two weeks.  Went to Brockville last week, to help celebrate John's parents 60th wedding anniversary.  Went to a lovely Inn for dinner...Robinson House...service was good and food was very nice...but left hungry.  Know what I mean???  It was nice to experience...and celebrate such a wonderful day.  They're great people...take a look!!!

Also "welcomed" Ms. Allie Lorraine into the world.  This is our 5th grand-daughter...and the last grand child.  I can't wait to meet her.  Will share pictures later.

Yes...I HAVE been working on the baby blanket...and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Will try harder to keep this thing updated.  Really.....

I'm Late...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Happy Mother's Day...to my family and friends.  Sorry I'm
late with my wishes...but working all day and all night should be self-explanatory.  I did manage to get in a phone call to my Mom between shifts...but I missed a call from my youngest son, Jeremy.  But...my oldest lad, Jason, did wish me a HAPPY MOM'S DAY via Facebook...I just about "lost it".  He never remembers those special days.

My 4 legged children are seen here wishing me a Happy Mother's Day....between naps!!
Have a busy day planned...going to the doctor's office with my hubby, post office, a few thrift stores and a luncheon at the restaurant for the owner's birthday.  Should be fun...I hope he's surprised.

Nope...it's not finished yet.  lololol

Have a great day...
