Oggie Sez....

Oggie mentioned that I haven't been to visit my blog lately...and boy, was he right!!  It's been well over a week now.  But, no news is good news, for the most part.  I have a few things to share with you....

I've been working several extra hours at work, filling in for another waitress so she can enjoy her vacation.  I'll be soooo glad when she's back, as it's just about killing me!!  One more 8 hour shift and 3 days of doubles, and it will be over with.  I think I can make it!!

So, my crocheting has been put on the "back burner" for the time being.  I've managed to sneak in a row or two...but other than that, nothing major.  I sure miss it....

I've sold 2 of my hats on eBay.  That certainly was a good feeling.  And, I have been approached about doing a few special orders.  A lady contacted me regarding 6 hats and another lady is interested in baby hats and diaper covers.  I'm thrilled!!!  I hope it all comes together, as I'm "itching" to get started.  If this keeps up, I don't think I'll be doing too many craft shows this fall.  I just won't have the time.  Plus, I have a bunch of gifts to get started on.  More on that later.

And if I don't get started on dinner, there is going to be a very unhappy man in this house...along with Oggie and the kitties.  So...I do hope this finds you well....

Enjoy your day!!!

Good Morning!!

It's Saturday...a rainy Saturday...but we sure need the moisture!!

Another busy week....glad it's over with.  Didn't get much crocheting done.  I "frogged" out the mulberry colored scarf, as I just wasn't happy with it.  I decided to make a keyhole scarf instead, and it's turning out very nice.  I went through the wool my Mother-in-law gave me, and have decided my next project to be a "retro" striped scarf....all in colors of brown and gold.

Moved a few more plants around in my rock garden.  Just need to split up the ground cover now to "fill in" here and there.  Might split up a few of my hostas, but not too sure yet where to put them.  I think I'm getting FULL!!!

Other than that, no news is good news.  John's testing on his bladder turned out EXCELLENT.  No reoccurring tumors...doesn't have to repeat any testing for 6 months!!

Have a GREAT day...I'm going to!!!

Busy Day...

It's been a long, busy day...

I only slept for a few hours last night...and it's starting to catch up to me.  I was up and down like a yo-yo most of the night...my legs felt like they were on "fire".  Happens every Sunday night when I work a double shift.  And I was soooo busy...the people just kept coming and coming and I was working the floor alone.  And they were all parties of 5 or more!!!!  I was so happy to get out of there!!!!

John went to the hospital this morning for a test on his bladder.  He's been dealing with cancer for about 18 months or more...and today was a day to celebrate!!!  NO cancer and NO tumors.  Now, instead of going every 3-4 months for testing, he won't go back for 6 months.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!!  It certainly was a big relief!!!

Here's a quick peek at the Dazzelaire yarn I was telling you about.  Although vintage..the colors look amazing together.  Variegated cream, grey and rust tones.  This is a picture of the hat before I finished it up...for a small child.  I just have to add the pom-pom.

Tomorrow is 1 cent listing day on eBay.  Hoping to get a few things listed.  I found some neat books on doll houses--instructions and plans.  They SHOULD bring a descent price...if they sell!!!

Better get some sleep...see ya later!!  :)

Dream....

Just a quick "hell-o"...as I really need to get to bed----a split shift tomorrow.

I just want to get your wheels turning...I don't want to be the only one up all night!!

I heard something on television tonight that "we can be what we dream"....or "we ARE what we dream".  Hmmm...I know MY answer to that...I would homestead.  Live far away from the "rat race" of city life and just enjoy the rest of my days.  And, that isn't too hard to accomplish.  All in all, dreams CAN come true.  We'll see....

So tell me...what is YOUR dream?  Are you living it????

Sweet dreams everyone!!

The Party's Over... :(

Well, it's back to work tomorrow...boo hoo!!!  I guess I shouldn't complain, as I only work on the average of 20 hours per week.  And...if ya think about it, I'm one of the lucky ones...I HAVE a job!!

Busy day.  I vacuumed the upstairs and dusted our bedroom.  Hung 2 loads of clothes out on the line and played in the rock garden.  I moved some plants around and got the three I bought yesterday all situated.  Pulled a few weeds and just enjoyed "playing in the dirt".

Finished the hat I was making in the Dazzelaire yarn.  Think I'll put a pom-pom on it, as it's for a child.  Tomorrow, I'll finish the scarf I'm working on and go back to the planning stages.  Probably another tam...or MAYBE a scrap happy scarf!!!

Here's the "dirty rose" colored hat I was telling you about.  Just need to put the fringe on the scarf and make a flowered button.  (Better get some of these projects completed....)

So...enjoy your week-end...talk to ya later!!!

Alot of Nothin'

Not much of anything got accomplished around here today...but we all need an "off" day now and again....don't you agree??

I did go to the bank, post office and browsed around 2 of our local thrift stores.  I found 3 very nice Hallmark Christmas cards for .10 each.  Stopped by the grocery store to get the rest of our vegetables and  to Canadian Tire (a hardware and garden supply store) to check on some lined rubber boots for John.  No such luck....BUT...I did get 3 perennial plants for the rock garden at 75% off!  Would have cost alittle over 10.00...but I walked out of there for 2.68 and that included the tax!!  What a score!!!!

I did get the bed changed, washed the comforter and Oggie's "blankie" and hung them out on the line!!  It didn't take them long to dry with the wind and the hot August sun. Another few loads to get done tomorrow...looks to be another sunny day!!

 Where's my "blankie", Mom?????

Made a stew in the crock-pot for dinner.  Had a salad and dinner rolls as well...fast and easy.  (I love those easy meals!!)

Well, better get to bed...hope all is well in your world!!

Vacation....

Well, we're back from our vacation..  We were away for 8 days and had a blast.  We left here and traveled through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and down to Kenoshaw, Wisconsin for the International M.O.C.N.A. (Metropolitan Owner's Club of North American) meet...where Met owners gathered from all over the place...the farthest being Puerto Rico.  Spent 4 days there and then traveled down through Chicago, Indiana and back into Michigan, where we stopped in to see my oldest son, Jason, and his family.  My Mom and Dad met us there and the 9 of us went out for dinner.  The next morning, John and I took off bright and early and drove the back roads towards home and just relaxed.  Thank goodness I have 2 days off before I go back to work...need the time to recuperate!!!

While we were traveling, I managed to make a tam in a plum color and started a matching neck warmer.  Ran out of yarn, but fortunately have another skein stashed in my closet.  Found a neat skein of vintage Dazzleaire and started a hat for a young boy.  Will eventually get all of this stuff listed in my eBay store and possible on etsy.  We'll see....

Better get to bed as it's already after midnight.  I'm fighting off a cold...Lord knows I could use a good night's sleep!!

Until later...sweet dreams!
